Zechmeister, Cis-Trans Isomeric Carotenoids, Vitamins and Arylpolyenes (Verlag Springer, Wien, 1962).<\/p>\n<p>The biochemical aspects have been covered by Goodwin (1952\u00b3, 1965\u2074 etc.) and Britton (1976\u2075, 1983\u2076, 1988\u2077 etc.).<\/p>\n<p>The technical and nutritional applications of carotenoids have been treated in a book edited by Bauernfeind (1981\u2078).<\/p>\n<p>The book series Carotenoids (ed. Britton et al.) which is covering the entire carotenoid field has been started in 1995 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.carotenature.com\/index.php\/book-series\/\">cf.
